The Monocot Checklist is an international collaborative programme and gives information on the accepted scientific names and synonyms of all 80 families of monocot plants. It allows you to search for all the scientific names of a particular plant, or the areas of the world in which it grows (distribution). For completeness the Grass family (Poaceae) has now also be made available provisionally. However some of the Grasss data and the geography in particular is still incomplete.
The checklist was completed by 2006 and is updated daily. New species are added annually. The Grass family is not yet included in the dataset but is also available (see Grasses List). For more information on the family circumscriptions and contributors, view list of included families or reviewers
