The Monocot Checklist is an international collaborative programme and gives information on the accepted scientific names and synonyms of all 80 families of monocot plants. It allows you to search for all the scientific names of a particular plant, or the areas of the world in which it grows (distribution). For completeness the Grass family (Poaceae) has now also been made available. However some of the Grass data and the geography in particular is still incomplete.

The checklist was completed by 2006 and is updated daily. New species are added annually. For more information on the family circumscriptions and contributors, view list of included families or reviewers
