Assembling the walkway

Learn more about the very latest addition to Kew's landscape, the Rhizotron and Xstrata Treetop Walkway, in this short film telling the story of the build. Designed by Marks Barfield Architects, the architects of the London Eye, this pioneering structure is an ingenious design.

The use of time-lapse photography allows you to follow the construction process and watch the Walkway take shape. The film also features an interview with Tony Kirkham, the project's manager and head of Kew's arboretum.
