Country: Tanzania Habitat: Locally common but scattered in Themeda triandra - Digitaria macroblephra - Harpachne schimperi grassland on a grey sandy loam.
Location: T1. Masi Kopjies, Headwaters of the Seronera River. Plant Description: A procumbent perennial very spiny herb up to 6in tall with spiny bracts and leaves, rather tufted in growth but brances spreading from 6-12, stems, brances and upper surfaces of the leaves coarsely pubescent, flowers pale blue in short dense spikes.
