Country: New Guinea Habitat: Lower slopes of steep, glaciated, E-facing ridge. In areas of subalpine forest and patches of subalpine shrubbery on slopes above the forest. Subalpine forest dominated by large trees of Dacrycarpus compactus and Podocarpus sp.
Location: W margin of Carstensz Meadow, South of old nursery site. Plant Description: Small tree fern in subalpine shrubbery along upper margins of forested area. Trunk to 60-80cm tall (sampled). Frond data separate. Stipe to 3.5-6cm long, 2-2.8x1.4-2.1cm. Lenticels not conspicuous on stipe. Rachis (67-) 81-98.8cm long. 21-23 pinnae plus..
