Cymbopogon citratus (DC.) Stapf (cultivated)
is cultivated throughout the tropics for culinary andmedicinal purposes.
Its inflorescence is awnless but in cultivation it rarely flowers; in the vegetative state it can be recognized by the long, scabrid, lemon-scented leaf laminas.
